GENERAL.INFORMATION
DRESS CODE
Campers.should.dress.accordingly.for.the.activities.
scheduled..It.is.recommended.they.wear.shorts,.a.light.
weight.shirt,.and.some.type.of.athletic.shoe.or.sneaker.
in.order.to.participate.in.recreational.and.athletic.activities.
each.day..For.programs.at.the.Cary.Arts.Center,.it.is.
recommended.campers.wear.old.clothing..Certain.camps.
may.have.additional.clothing.requirements..Sandals,.flip-
flops,.rubber.sandals,.and.other.open.toed.shoes.are.not.
recommended.as.acceptable.attire.for.active.recreation.
activities..If.the.camper.is.not.properly.attired,.the.parent/
guardian.will.be.notified.to.bring.appropriate.clothing.or.will.
be.required.to.pick.up.the.camper.
PERSONAL BELONGINGS
Due.to.the.large.number.of.campers,.the.Town.of.Cary.
and.staff.are.not.responsible.for.camper's.personal.
belongings..Campers.should.not.bring.toys,.cell.phones,.
electronic.devices,.jewelry,.or.money.(except.for.
concessions)..Please.put.camper's.name.on.all.articles.of.
clothing,.towels,.lunchboxes,.bags,.etc..
SUNSCREEN AND INSECT REPELLENT
For.camps.with.outdoor.activities,.it.is.recommended.to.
apply.sunscreen.and/or.bug.spray.prior.to.arriving.at.camp.
each.day..Campers.may.bring.sunscreen/bug.spray.to.
camp.however.they.must.be.able.to.apply.it.themselves.
under.adult.supervision..Sunscreen/bug.spray.must.be.
labeled.with.camper's.name..Campers.may.not.share.
these.items.with.other.campers..
BEHAVIOR MANAGEMENT
Camp.Staff.create.a.fun.and.safe.environment.for.
participants.in.the.program..Praise.and.positive.
reinforcement.are.used.as.effective.methods.of.behavior.
management..Camper.behavior.that.does.not.respond.to.
these.methods.or.is.destructive.to.others.or.property.will.
be.dealt.with.in.a.professional,.positive,.and.timely.manner.
SCHEDULE CHANGES
Cary.Parks,.Recreation.&.Cultural.Resources.reserves.the.
right.to.alter.schedules,.fees,.and.instructors.as.necessary..
Camps.are.subject.to.cancellation.when.minimum.
enrollment.has.not.been.reached.
NONREGISTERED PARTICIPANTS
IN THE CLASSROOM
Because.of.space.limitations.and.distractions,.we.ask.
that.only.registered.participants.remain.in.a.classroom..
Parents/guardians.and.siblings.may.wait.in.approved.
waiting.areas..Exceptions.may.be.made.by.the.facility.
supervisor.for.participants.with.disabilities.who.may.need.
additional.assistance.

PARTICIPANT INFORMATION PACKET
For.camps.that.meet.12.hours.or.more.in.one.week.
.A.participant.information.packet.must.be.submitted.for.
each.camper.prior.to.the.start.date.of.the.camp..Packets.
may.be.found.at.www.townofcary.org.by.searching.
"Summer.Camp.Forms"..If.your.camper.becomes.ill.or.
injured.during.camp,.the.parent/guardian.or.emergency.
contact.person(s).will.be.notified..You.should.make.
necessary.arrangements.to.have.your.child.picked.up..Be.
sure.to.note.any.medical.concerns.in.the.PARTICIPANT.
INFORMATION–MEDICAL.INFORMATION.portion.of.the.
packet..Please.fill.out.Section.3.of.this.page.if.medication.
needs.to.be.administered.during.camp.hours.(including.
asthma.medication)..This.section.must.be.completed.
in.its.entirety.and.signed.by.parent/guardian.before.any.
medication.will.be.dispensed..Medication.will.be.secured.
in.a.locked.box.at.all.times..Camp.counselors.will.carry.
medication.to.dispense.as.needed.while.on.field.trips..
