18 June-August 2015 Cary Senior Center Computer Learning Android Smartphone Android smartphones and tablets are becoming increasingly popular and are available from multiple manufacturers and work with all the major cell phone service providers. This course will show you how to set up and use these devices and provide a brief overview of the many applications (apps) available. It will not be possible to address every such product available. The course will focus on generic methods. If you already own an Android device, please bring it to class but please read the manual on basic operation in advance. Location: Classroom 302 85210 Wed Aug 5 1:30-4 p.m. FREE! Your Best Shot Calling all amateur and professional senior photographers! Have your picture be the next cover of the Cary Senior Center Brochure! If your photo is chosen as the cover you will be a featured spotlight on the back of the brochure. To be eligible to win, your photo must meet the following requirements: Photo must show active aging through an activity provided by the Town of Cary, brief description of the activity that is being captured in the photo, people in the photo must be 55 and older, and we need contact information and photo needs to be 300 dpi and in either jpg or tif format. All photos and information will need to be submitted digitally to Stefanie Nichols, through either email stefanie.nichols@townofcary.org or CD. Granpaparazzi Photo Club Following the success of the Digital Photography classes offered through SeniorNet, we are forming a Camera Club! This club is for those interested in learning more about photography from each other's photography experiences and knowledge, in a friendly and unintimidating environment. First order of business will be exploring ideas for activities, such as day trip photo shoots, Photoshop techniques, picture critiques, and Gear news and discussions.
