Cary Youth Theatre | 6:30 p.m. Cary Town Band | 7:30 p.m. Come join the band, Applause! Cary Youth Theatre, the Scouts, and more for the 28th annual patriotic salute to our nation's birth and the service personnel past and present who have helped secure our liberty and freedom. Hear buglers bugle and Yankees doodle dandily. And perhaps we'll celebrate summer itself. Independence Day Olde Time Celebration Saturday, July 4 | 7:30 a.m.-3 p.m. | Free Bond Park Come join us for an old-fashioned celebration of our nation's birth. FISHING TOURNAMENT-WATERFRONT 8-10 a.m. Registration begins at 7:30 a.m. at the Boathouse. Prizes awarded for the longest and shortest fish in a variety of age groups. PARADE DECORATIONS-KIWANIS SHELTER 9:30-10:30 a.m. Decorate your bike, trike, stroller, wagon, scooter, battery-powered kids vehicle, or yourself and participate in a slow, kid-friendly parade through the park to celebrate our American pride. No gas- powered vehicles. You are welcome to provide your own decorating supplies, come already decorated, or use our decorations while supplies last. Supplies and assistance provided by the Cary Teen Council. PARADE IN THE PARK 10:30 a.m. Show your American pride! Slowly walk, stroll, ride, drive, and parade through the park. FAMILY CONTEST-BOATHOUSE 11 a.m.-3 p.m. Join us for some family-friendly competitions for all ages: Donut Eating, Watermelon Eating, Lake Side Olympics, Watermelon Seed Spitting, Water Balloon Toss, Sidewalk Decorating, and more! Age groups for all events are: age 5 & under, age 6-10, age 11-17, and age 18 & up. July 4th Celebration at Koka Booth Amphitheatre Saturday, July 4 | 3-10 p.m. Patriotic performances and music combined with family-friendly activities in an atmosphere that is second to none makes the July 4th Celebration at Booth Amphitheatre an event not to be missed. As the last note fades, the celebration is capped off with a spectacular fireworks display. Kids young and old will want to take a ride on the Ferris Wheel which offers a stunning view of Symphony Lake. There will also be an array of contests, magicians, scavenger hunts, rides, and more! SCHEDULE OF EVENTS 3 p.m. Gates Open to Blankets, Lawn Chairs & Picnics 3-7 p.m. Kids Activities, Ferris Wheel, Berry-Go-Round, scavenger hunt, and more. 4:30-6 p.m. Watermelon eating, ice cream eating and corn hole contests. 5:45 p.m. Cary Town Band on Koka Booth Main Stage 7:30 p.m. NC Symphony on Koka Booth Main Stage SPECIAL RESERVED SEATING Booth Amphitheatre is once again offering Crescent table seating for purchase. The price is $40 per seat and includes Lumpy's Ice cream, a Star Spangled Swirl Bread from Great Harvest Bread Company and preferred parking. Tickets may be purchased at the Amphitheatre Box Office or online at www.etix.com. Please note: Tarps, blankets and chairs are allowed on the lawn. Staking and tents are not permitted. INDEPENDENCE DAY FUN!
