CONCERTS 8 REGISTER ONLINE: classweb.townofcary.org PART ONE Blu-Bop: A Tribute to the Music of Bela Fleck & The Flecktones Sponsored in part by PineCone Saturday, July 11 | 6 p.m. | Free "Blu-Bop: A Tribute to the Music of Bela Fleck & the Flecktones" is, as far as we know, the world's first and only tribute to the groundbreaking band. The band is comprised of E. Scott Warren on bass; Mike Rosado on drums; Justin Powell on keys; Paul Messinger on harmonica; Myron Koch on saxophones; and long- obsessed Flecktone fan Hank Smith on banjos. Blu-Bop performs the very difficult but amazingly fun task of playing this music as accurately as possible and also uses the tunes as jumping-off points to showcase their own skills in true Flecktone fashion. For more, visit www. pinecone.org. Songs of the Fall Sponsored in part by PineCone Saturday, August 8 | 6 p.m. | Free Songs of the Fall is a Colorado-based Americana band featuring five-time Grammy Nominee Cia Cherryholmes on banjo and vocals and Stetson Adkisson on guitar and vocals. Songs of the Fall has been described as a meeting of Celtic, delta blues, and bluegrass and has been referred to as the American version of Swell Season. The music ranges from driving and gritty Americana performed by a five-piece band to beautiful country ballads sung by Cherryholmes and Adkisson as a duo. For more, visit www.pinecone.org.
