Critical Interventions Critical interventions are direct actions take by fire personnel specific to intervening in immediately life-threatening medical conditions. Examples of medications, include: naloxone, epinephrine and glucose. Examples of procedures, include: assisted ventilations, tourniquet application, CPR, choking and defibrillation. The Fire Department contains 70% of fires to room of origin. Containment levels indicate the extent to which a fire spreads beyond the point of origin prior to extinguishment by fire personnel. Two cross country events were held this quarter: the REI Run Series, which featured 75 participants and the Rockin Marathon Relay, which featured 687 participants. The Rockin Marathon Relay is sponsored by Trivium Racing and provides an opportunity to gather a team to conquer a full marathon, while enjoying the music and a fun party atmosphere. USA Baseball National Training Complex (NTC) Hosted the Dowling College D-II Challenge, comprised of 10 different east coast schools. The Town raised $10,000 in revenue, in addition to area economic impact. The National High School Invitational was held in March for the 4th consecutive year in partnership with USA Baseball. This event brings 16 of the Nation's best teams together. Ready, Set, Go! 4,300 runners participated in the Tobacco Road Half & Full marathon race which started and finished at the NTC. The Carolina Railhawks played an exhibition match versus Seoul E-Land from South Korea. Attendance was 1,409. The Railhawks kick-off their 9th regular season of play in April. Fire Response
