DID YOU KNOW ... • A vintage Cary High School band uniform (the Cary High School band has played a prominent role in Cary's history, as illustrated by the de- cades-long tradition of Cary Band Day, which continues in the present day) • Interactive exhibits about important events in Cary's history • For more information call (919) 460-4963. Cary Heritage Museum The Cary Heritage Museum, located in the Page-Walker Arts & History Center in downtown Cary, North Carolina, chroni- cles the history of the Town of Cary using a timeline exhibit. This community muse- um is free and open to the public. In 2014, the Cary Heritage Museum received the Evelina D. Miller Museum Award from the North Carolina Society of Historians. Although packed into a small third-fl oor space, the museum receives hundreds of visitors each year and contains several signif- icant artifacts and many educational exhibits, including: • A timeline exhibit that traverses the border of the museum, using a railroad track to guide vis- itors through Cary's history (Cary was founded by Frank Page, who built a railroad hotel) • The WWI uniform and medical instruments of Dr. James Templeton, one of Cary's fi rst doctors um is free and open to the public.
