Creating ACTIVE Retirement Years (919) 469-4081 11 Arts & Crafts PAINTING Express yourself by painting with acrylics, water-soluble oils, watercolors and other unique mediums. You must have all supplies at the first class. Pick up your supply list at the Cary Senior Center front desk or visit the senior center webpage at www.townofcary. org. Landscape Painting Learn the principles and fundamentals of what makes a landscape painting a beautiful work of art. Discover how to apply the principles to your own painting style. This will include: composition, arial perspective and how it affects color and value, the importance of edges, values, color mixing for the colors of nature, brush techniques and paint application, plus much more. It promises to be a fun, interesting and beneficial class. Water-soluble oils and acrylics are welcome. Handcraft one-of-a-kind jewelry for yourself or to give to a friend. Experience the accomplishment of making wearable artwork! Jazzy Jewelry Workshops Have fun learning to design and handcraft a custom pair of earrings or pendant to complement a new autumn or holiday outfit. Learn the basic techniques for jewelry assembly from jump rings to eye pins, while exploring different materials, from beads to recycled components. Base metal elements along with a variety of bead and stone and metal spacers' selections to choose from are included in $6 supply fee due at the beginning of class to the instructor. Please specify pierced or non-pierced preferences at registration. Small pre-stamped copper pieces will be kiln fired by instructor during each workshop ready for completion and take home. The cost for colorants, basic metal components and one copper piece are included in the class fee. Additional copper pieces are available to purchase during the class for $1 each.
