20 September-December 2015 Cary Senior Center Computer Learning Digital Photography 3 Photo editing and manipulation using Photoshop Elements: Learn how to use the most popular photo editing software to create photographic works of art on your computer. Revive those old family portraits, and edit out distractions from your vacation pictures. Students are advised either to purchase the software or download the Free Trial version from www.adobe.com prior to attending this class. For copyright reasons we are unable to provide students with software for use on their home computers. Digital Photography 1 & 2 are prerequisites for this class. A Flash Drive is required. Fees: $40(R) $52(N) (8 classes) 86383 Mon/Tue/Thu Dec 1-21 1:30-4 p.m. Safe Computing Learn how to protect your computer from viruses and other malicious programs. You will also learn about Fire Walls and other protective measures you can take to keep your computer system safe. Hands on, learn how to install virus protection on your computer. On 11/9 meet in classroom 303, 11/12 meet in classroom 302 Location: Classroom 303/302 Fees: $10(R) $15(N) (2 classes) 86379 Mon/Thu Nov 9-12 2-4:30 p.m. Digital Photography 1 This series of three courses is designed for beginning or intermediate users of digital photography. NOTE: The Digital Photography courses must be taken in sequence unless waived by the instructor after discussion with the prospective student. Bring your camera, and learn how to use the controls and understand the terminology. Learn techniques for taking better pictures, and then upload and view them on your computer. Location: Classroom 302 Fees: $15(R) $20(N) (3 classes) 86381 Mon/Tue/Thu Oct 12-15 2-4:30 p.m. Digital Photography 2 Photo Enhancement and Printing: Make the best of the pictures you have taken; learn how to enhance your photos using free software (Picasa 3), and then print them. Understand some of the online photo services and how to use them. Digital photography 1 is a prerequisite for this class. Fees: $15(R) $20(N) (3 classes) 86382 Mon/Tue/Thu Nov 2-5 1:30-4 p.m. Granpaparazzi Photo Club Following the success of the Digital Photography classes offered through SeniorNet, we formed a Camera Club! This club is for those interested in learning more about photography from each other's photography experiences and knowledge, in a friendly and unintimidating environment. We explore new ideas for activities, such as day trip photo shoots, Photoshop techniques, picture critiques, and Gear news and discussions.
