Creating ACTIVE Retirement Years (919) 469-4081 7 Trips A Day Trips All trips leave from the Cary Senior Center. Return times are approximate. Space is limited and cost only covers admissions/ transportation, unless otherwise stated. See each description for details. Dress for the weather and wear comfortable shoes! Register early, as reservations must be made and paid in advance for confirmation. No refunds for cancellations. Scheduled arrival time is when you must be at the Senior Center, not the departure time. Location: Lobby Eco Trip Back by popular demand! Learn the story of Jordan Lake: its wildlife ecology, history, environmental impact from humans, engineering aspects, and the vital role the lake plays in the Triangle. You will enjoy a thought- provoking, well researched, entertaining presentation along with delicious appetizers and drinks provided by Triangle Boat Tours. Following tour you will have a chance to stop by Jordan Lake's Visitor Center. Register by September 1. Fees: $40(R) $52(N) (per person) 88826 Tue Sep 15 9 a.m. - 1:15 p.m. Sylvan Heights Bird Park Sylvan Heights Bird Park is known throughout the world for breeding and protecting rare and endangered waterfowl, ducks, geese and swans as well as other birds such as flamingos, cranes, toucans, kookaburras, and more! Features the world's largest collection of waterfowl in continentally- themed aviaries. First you will experience and educational program where you will get up close with several different types of birds and learn about their unique characteristics and habitats. Following a box lunch join an expert as they guide us around the park. Finally, you will have an opportunity to spend time on your own exploring the park. This is for bird enthusiasts and plant lovers as it is a day full of viewing beautiful birds and their habitats. Extensive walking on uneven surfaces, please wear proper shoes. Dress for the weather outside, rain or shine. Included in trip fee: transportation, education program, tour guide, seed stick for birds and lunch. Please register by August 28.
