Works by Jeanne Rhea, Linda Poche, Katherine Stein, Shannon Binkowski, Michelle Davis Petelinz, Sharon DiGiulio and more will be showcased. 13th Annual FALC Senior Exhibition Cary Senior Center Monday, August 24–Friday, September 18 Artist Reception: Friday, August 28 | 3–6 p.m. Medium: Mixed Cary Senior Center and the Fine Arts League of Cary will host the 13th Annual Seniors Art Exhibition, featuring two- dimensional art made by local residents ages 55 and up. The maximum size of work will be 18"x24" and no photography will be accepted. Fees and more details will be in the entry information. There will be ribbons and awards. A reception will be held for artists and friends on Friday, August 28. Kanchan Gharpurey: Life in the City Bond Park Community Center Tuesday, September 1–Saturday, October 31 Medium: Acrylic on canvas and ink on paper Life in the city has its own challenges, joys and pains. The city represents a multi-hued collage with numerous, wondrous and charming things. Structures and their various forms epitomize the vibrancy of life. Various arches and lines are incorporated into the art to highlight the aforementioned essence. Emergence: Jessica Dupuis Cary Arts Center Gallery Friday, September 18–Sunday, November 15 Artist Reception: Friday, September 25 | 6–8 p.m. Medium: Installation/mixed media Invisible and visible boxes surround us every day, from standards of society and institutions to houses, studios, and offices. Within these structures, individual perceptions and senses vary, just as our memories and attachment to objects differ from one person to another. Dupuis states "the physical form of sculpture functions as a journal; architectural spaces that are open for the viewer to explore. My work evolves from an experimental process in which I use a combination of clay slip and discarded materials such as newspaper, cardboard, and furniture and transform them into art objects."
