look what's new Fall is one of the best times of year to enjoy everything Park, Recreation & Cultural Resources has to offer. The hot days of summer give way to the cool autumn breeze. The holidays are just around the corner. And there is much to see and do from large events, to classes and programs of every size, all swirled together with ample time to enjoy the changing leaves and glorious weather just right for exploring trails, greenways, and parks. One of the biggest events all year happens in Downtown Cary at the end of August. The 39th Annual Lazy Daze Arts & Crafts Festival on August 22 is second to none. With the finest art and crafts offered by artisans from around the country, Lazy Daze is a favorite for locals and travelers alike. Tasty festival fare and live entertainment round out the event that will move just down the street to Town Hall Campus from its usual home. Bring family and friends out for the best end to summer! Cultural events and festivals abound this fall. Diwali, the Festival of Lights, celebrates its 15th year in Cary Enjoy Indian culture, handicrafts, and food at Koka Booth Amphitheatre on October 10. Howlin' Good Halloween and Heart of the Holidays boast a full day of celebrating with activities for all ages and interests. Learn more about scares by the dozen at Koka Booth Amphitheatre and a day of ghoulish fun in Downtown Cary on page 7. And join us for a festive Heart of the Holidays on December 5 with activities for the little ones, a visit from Santa, and the official lighting of the Town tree. And December brings another thrilling tradition—the NCAA Division I College Cup. See the very best players in Women's College Soccer battle it out for the national title right here in Cary December 5-7 at WakeMed Soccer Park. And if that isn't enough to fill your calendar, throw in every kind of class, camp or program under the autumn sun and you will be sure to Laugh, Learn, and Play this fall in Cary!
