Arbolito de la Esperanza: Tree of Hope Lighting Friday, December 4 | 6:30–8:30 p.m. | Free Herbert C. Young Community Center The lighting of the Arbolito de la Esperanza represents rays of hope for Hispanic/Latino children by initiating the collection of Estrella de la Esperanza (Stars of Hope) donations. The tree lighting is preceded by a traditional Latin celebration in which people share in a potluck dinner with holiday foods from around the Latin American world. Local Latino musicians perform and lead the audience in singing traditional holiday songs. Co-sponsored by Diamante, Inc. and the Town of Cary. NCAA Women's College Cup Soccer Championship December 4 & 6 WakeMed Soccer Park See the most elite women in college soccer battle it out for the national title right here in Cary. The NCAA Women's College Cup returns to WakeMed Soccer Park a record 8th time. The winner of the tournament is crowned the 2015 Women's NCAA Division I National Champion. Jewish Cultural Festival Thursday, December 10 | 4:30 p.m. | Free Cary Arts Center The festival kicks off with the lighting of the nine-foot menorah for the fifth night of Hanukkah. Enjoy the celebration of Jewish culture with delicious traditional Jewish foods, crafts for kids, lively music, activities, and educational programs. Holiday Potluck Celebration Friday, December 11 | 11:30 a.m.– 1:30 p.m. | 85547 Cary Senior Center | Age 55+ It's that most wonderful time of year when the Cary Senior Center hosts a holiday event filled with an afternoon of festivities and fellowship. A potluck lunch, followed by special entertainment awaits us all! Bring a dish to share and for those wishing to participate in the gift exchange, bring a newly purchased wrapped gift value of $5-$10. Be sure to register your spot by December 4. Cary Kwanzaa Celebration Tuesday, December 29 | 3 p.m. | Free Cary Arts Center Cary Kwanzaa is a family-friendly community celebration that honors African American heritage and culture. During the seven days of Kwanzaa, guests are invited to ponder the Nguzu Saba, or seven powerful principles derived from African heritage. Co-sponsored by The Ujima Group, and the Town of Cary.
