From what majors colleges offer to size and location; being one of 200 students versus being one of 20 students in a class, you will learn the different criteria to consider when selecting a college. Young Community Center Instructor: Rhonda Manns, A2Z College Planning Fees: $28(R) $36(N) (1 class) 87824 Sat Sep 12 2–3:15 p.m. SAT Verbal Prep Course (age 15–17) Prepare for the verbal portion of the SAT with this course, covering both the critical reading and the writing sections. Students receive an SAT Training Manual that provides a specific step-by-step method for every question. Students also learn the psychology of test-taking, including confidence issues and time management. Location: Herbert C. Young Community Center Instructor: Alex Marcus Fees: $152(R) $182(N) (6 classes) 88607 Sat Sep 19–Oct 31 noon–2 p.m. (no class Oct 24) College Prep in the Middle School Years (grades 7–8 with parent) Getting into college can be an overwhelming and stressful process. The earlier you begin to prepare, the more opportunity you'll have for college and scholarships! Students will learn concepts, practice actual ACT math problems, learn ACT test-taking tips, and build their overall confidence in math.
