Open to participants of all skill levels, classes build strength, flexibility, musicality, and coordination, and inspire self-esteem and creativity. Creative Movement (age 2–5) Creative Movement classes focus on music and rhythm, coordination, and balance for preschool-age children. A great introduction to dance for your little one! PRE-BALLET Inspired by the beautiful arm positions and graceful movements of ballet, Pre-Ballet classes encourage creative expression. Lil Budding Ballerinas (age 2) Fairies take flight through the expressive outlet of dance and music. Leap, skip and twirl using creative movement techniques. Each week a new theme and fun colorful props are introduced such as fairy wings, tutus, wands and more! (age 2) Introduce the art of dance to your child. Princess songs and classical music complement ballet moves and techniques as ballerinas dance, sway, swing, leap, pirouette and play! This is a great beginning class of creative movement using fun props such as fairy wings, streamers, and balloons. It follows the Dance'em syllabus. Actor's Studio (age 10–12) Strengthen acting technique through expanded improv, character, and scene work, vocal and physical warm- ups, application of actions/objectives/obstacles, 'truth in acting', and audition prep. Learn basic hand and machine stitches, how to operate a sewing machine, and how to follow patterns to create unique costume designs. Instructor: Stacie Whitley Fees: $114(R) $144(N) (5 classes) 87548 Sat Oct 3–31 10 a.m.–noon Paper to Platform (age 10–18) Experience the theatrical design process and see how script analysis, design choice, drawings and renderings, and collaboration result in a fully-developed scenic plan for use on the Applause! stage.
