Our adventures will encourage the understanding and appreciation of the natural world at night. This old-fashioned camp-style program includes nature activities and crafts, night hikes and campfire snacks around the fire pit. Each program has a different nature topic. Fees: $18(R) $23(N) (1 class) 88395 Fri Sep 11 6–9 p.m. 88396 Fri Oct 30 6–9 p.m. 88397 Fri Nov 20 6–9 p.m. 88400 Fri Dec 18 6–9 p.m. Holiday Programs Winter Wildlife Wonderland (age 6–10) A kid's day out in nature means...Parents Shopping Day! Children spend an action-packed afternoon creating projects, exploring the winter woods, and participating in exciting nature related activities. They will delight in learning about the winter wildlife during this fun-filled afternoon adventure! Children are dropped off for this program. Fees: $26(R) $34(N) (1 class) 88436 Sat Dec 5 1–5 p.m. 88437 Sat Dec 12 1–5 p.m. Teen Nature Young Ecologists (age 10–13) Participants build confidence and make new friends while expanding their knowledge and appreciation of the environment. Each session is primarily a field excursion with a classroom session relevant to a specific nature topic. Equipment provided. Fees: $12(R) $16(N) (1 class) THINGS THAT GO BUMP IN THE DARK 88419 Sun Nov 22 4–6 p.m. DISCOVER. PLAY. LEARN. Hemlock Nature Quest (age 13–15) If you think your child has seen everything at Hemlock Bluffs, think again! Journey to far corners of the Preserve on a quest to find nature rarely seen. Dress for the weather and off-trail conditions. Bring your sense of adventure! (HNQ participants are eligible to volunteer as program assistants for our younger nature programs.) Fees: $12(R) $16(N) (1 class) SALAMANDER SURVEY Join us for our annual survey of the temp pools and other wetland areas for salamanders. 88422 Sun Dec 13 2–4 p.m. WEAR THESE NOT THESE
