Drills will help develop blocking, framing pitches and throw downs to bases. Location: USA Baseball National Training Complex Instructor: Town of Cary Baseball Instructors Fees: $30(R) $39(N) (1 class) AGE 10–12 89012 Thu Oct 8 6:30–8 p.m. AGE 13–15 89013 Thu Oct 15 6:30–8 p.m. Intermediate Pitching (age 10–15) This clinic is designed for pitchers that have experience on the mound and are ready to take their game to the next level. Continued development of proper pitching mechanics and an introduction to pitch selections are covered. Proper arm care will be discussed. Location: USA Baseball National Training Complex Instructor: Town of Cary Baseball Instructors Fees: $30(R) $39(N) (1 class) AGE 10–12 89018 Thu Oct 8 6:30–8 p.m. AGE 13–15 89019 Thu Oct 15 6:30–8 p.m. Advanced Catcher's Skills Clinic (age 13–16) Participants learn proper catcher techniques and have the opportunity to work on drills to become better catchers. The focus will be on the position of catcher. This clinic is for participants interested in becoming elite players on the competitive level. Protective equipment is encouraged. Mechanics from the wind up and the stretch will be taught and reviewed. Defensive responsibilities will also be reviewed as a part of this clinic targeted for participants who want to become effective pitchers on a competitive stage. Proper arm care will be discussed. Instructor: Town of Cary Baseball Instructors Fees: $30(R) $39(N) (1 class) 89017 Wed Oct 21 6:30–8 p.m. Basics of Pitching (age 8–13) Participants learn the basic skills of being a baseball pitcher. Mechanics will be taught along with understanding what it takes mentally to be a pitcher. Drills will be taught that participants can utilize on their own time. Proper arm care will also be covered. No competitive experience is required. Location: USA Baseball National Training Complex Instructor: Town of Cary Baseball Instructors Fees: $10(R) $13(N) (1 class) AGE 8–10 88985 Thu Sep 17 6–7 p.m. 88987 Sun Nov 1 1–2 p.m. AGE 11–13 88986 Thu Sep 17 7–8 p.m. 88988 Sun Nov 1 2–3 p.m. Hitting Skills and Techniques (age 10–13) This clinic will focus on the fundamentals of hitting, including proper stance, hitting position, balance, bat path, bat speed, and follow through. The clinic involves instructional drills and batting cage practice. This clinic focuses on fielding ground balls, throwing to cutoff man, judging fly balls, correct path to the ball, and how to get a quicker jump on balls hit to the outfield. Drills are designed to work on footwork, positioning and making accurate throws.
