Northwest Community Church (18,931 sqft.) Chick-fil-A Parkside Town Commons (4,730 sqft.) Crowne at Cary Park Apartments (197 units) The Estates at Young Landing (44 single family lots) Indian Wells Subdivision (70 single family lots) Estates at Yates Pond Subdivision (43 single family lots) Montvale Subdivision Phase I & II (109 single family lots) Wheeler Woods Subdivision (18 single family lots) Oaks at Sears Farm Subdivision (16 single family lots) Population As of July 1, 2015 the Town of Cary's population is estimated to be at 153,865. This is an increase of 2.7% (4,005 people) from Julyl 1, 2014. 164 Acres were annexed in Q2 2015. Total Town Limits as of July 1, 2015 is 58.15 square miles (37,212 acres). DEVELOPMENT Planning Inspections & Permits Development Support Division Q2 Development Plan Approvals Jan- March April- June July- Sept Oct- Dec April Staff and consultants revised and confirmed the approach for preparing the Future Growth Framework and map and developing policies for special planning areas. May The design and structure of the Cary Community Plan document was finalized along with the first draft of the Growth Framework map and corresponding development categories. In addition, an analysis was completed to test the transportation/transit impacts of the Growth Framework plan assumptions. At the May 26 Committee for the Future (CFTF) meeting, staff reviewed the results from the March 2015 Council work sessions on the draft policy recommendations, wrapped up Phase 2 (Community Choices) and kicked off Phase 3 (Plan Framework). The CFTF will take a short hiatus for summer and will re-convene in August to begin reviewing elements of the draft plan. June Staff used GIS modeling to analyze data and metrics for future traffic/transit impacts of the Growth Framework assumptions. The draft economic policy recommendations were refined in advance of the Mayor's Economic Roundtable at the Cary Chamber on June 23. Representatives from 18 businesses attended to hear an overview and update on Imagine Cary, review Cary's economic conditions and opportunities and give feedback on draft economic policy recommendations.
