On-Going Wastewater System Improvements We plan for and consistently fund the maintenance and preservation of our infrastructure. We inspect the wastewater collection system daily to help find and correct developing issues. Each year, Town staff prepares a capital improvements budget (CIB) and a long range capital improvements plan (CIP) for Town Council's consideration. The CIB and ten year CIP are recommendations to help meet Council policy direction in the areas of service delivery, infrastructure maintenance/development, regulatory compliance, facilities planning/development, financial condition, and projects needed to further enhance the quality of life in Cary. In Fiscal Year 2015 over $15 million was assigned to sewer-related improvements such as equipment replacement, pump station upgrades, and sewer line rehabilitation. Planning and making improvements to our wastewater collection system extends the life and operating efficiency of the Town's sewer system.
