9/11 Day of Service and Rememberance Events The Town held events at Fire Station #4 and Fire Station #5 for 72 volunteers. The volunteers contributed a combined 72 hours and built eight raised beds with deer fencing. The gardens have approximately 300 winter vegetables and pollinator plants. With the success of the series in May, Live at Lunch returned in September with four concerts (held each Thursday from 11:30 a.m - 1:30 p.m.) The styles of music included cover songs, Latin, pop/rock and also included NBC's The Voice contestant Katelyn Read. These concerts were free and patrons were encouraged to bring lunch or stop by one of Cary's downtown restaurants. Attendance averaged 85 patrons. The 39th Lazy Daze Arts & Craft Festival moved to its new, temporary location on the Town Hall campus. The transition was successful with many positive comments made by both attendees and vendors. The new site allowed for greater use of Town facilities, including Town Hall, the Page-Walker Arts & History Center and the Herb Young Community Center. All of these facilities showed marked increases in visitors with many people noting that the festival was their first visit to Town Hall. The new location also provided additional shade and an open-feel. TOWN EVENTS
