Cary's oldest volunteer environmental outreach program
spreads tools and tips about green living in Cary. Citizen
volunteers distribute educational packets to neighbors
containing information about Town programs such as
recycling, stormwater, sustainability, C-Tran, and water
conservation.
Over eighty volunteers delivered packets to over 9,000
houses this year. The packets were delivered in reusable
grocery bags that promoted both the Cary recyclables
program and the environmentally focused Cary It Green
Facebook page.
Block Leader Program
Block Leaders enjoyed tours at the Town's green facilities
such as Hemlock Bluffs, Fire Station 8 and the new Western
Wake Regional Water Reclamation Facility.
