13 Parks, Recreation & Cultural Resources Culinary Arts Cookie College (age 11-17) Ever wanted to make beautifully decorated cookies? Learn how to bake delicious cookies and take them to the next level! Three classes teach you the basics of flooding and piping simple cookies to creating little masterpieces your friends and family will rave about. At the end of each class, you'll have cookies to take home to impress your friends and family! Location: Herbert C. Young Community Center Instructor: Karen Bond Fees: $72(R) $93(N) (3 classes) 92216 Thu Jan 7-21 5-6:30 p.m. Holiday Cookie Design (age 11-17) In this class, participants will use multiple techniques to create a variety of holiday- specific cookies that are sure to impress! At the end of class you will have six cookies to take home. Location: Herbert C. Young Community Center Instructor: Karen Bond Fees: $35(R) $45(N) (1 class) VALENTINE'S COOKIE DECORATING In this class you will use multiple techniques to create six gorgeous and delicious Valentine's cookies. You will get to play with several techniques, including silhouettes, wet on wet, and others. Why give the same old box of chocolates when you can give a gift you made? 92217 Thu Feb 11 5-6:30 p.m. EASTER COOKIE DECORATING Easter goodies don't always have to be made of chocolate. Make super-fun Easter cookies, including bunnies, Easter eggs, and some gorgeous spring flowers. At the end of class you will have six cookies to take home. 92218 Tue Mar 15 5-6:30 p.m. Nature Hemlock Nature Quest (age 13-15) If you think your child has seen everywhere at Hemlock Bluffs, think again! Journey to the far corners of the preserve on a quest to find nature rarely seen. Dress for the weather and off-trail conditions and bring your sense of adventure! Fees: $12(R) $16(N) (1 class) WINTER WILDLIFE SURVEY Join us for our annual check of wildlife boxes as we focus on owls, flying squirrels, and more! 91867 Sat Jan 23 2-4 p.m. SWIFT CREEK SURVEY Assist staff with off-trail surveys for salamanders, frogs, and other stream inhabitants.
