5 Parks, Recreation & Cultural Resources Drawing, Painting & Mixed Media Art Wednesday Night Teens (age 11-16) Explore a variety of techniques and gain a better understanding of art concepts by learning about different artists and experimenting with an assortment of media. Share ideas and influences with others as you create. Supplies are included with fees. Painting techniques, mixed media, and collage will be explored. Supplies are included with fees. Instructor: Jane Wolfgang Fees: $52(R) $68(N) (3 classes) 90573 Thu Jan 28-Feb 11 6:30-8:30 p.m. Visual Arts Ceramic Classes Kids at the Wheel I (age 10-14) Learn all aspects of wheel thrown and handbuilt pottery from construction to decoration, working half the time on the wheel and half the time handbuilding and decorating thrown pieces. This class prepares you to use the ceramic studio during open studio time. Tool kits are provided. Clay must be purchased from the Cary Arts Center for $0.85/lb plus tax. Instructor: Johanna New Fees: $105(R) $135(N) (6 classes) 91338 Mon Jan 25-Feb 29 4:15-6:45 p.m. 91875 Sat Apr 2-May 7 1-3:30 p.m. Kids at the Wheel I, Continuing (age 10-14) Focus on refining handbuilding and wheel throwing techniques, including correct centering methods, trimming, and overall design to produce well-formed aesthetic pieces. Prerequisite: Kids at the Wheel I. Materials are not included with fees. Clay must be purchased from the Cary Arts Center at $0.85/lb. Often times we are able to accommodate those on waiting lists by adding additional spots in the class or adding additional classes.
