Creating ACTIVE Retirement Years (919) 469-4081 9 Arts & Crafts DRAWING Become a believer that everyone can draw! Relax in a friendly, informal setting as you learn the beauty of pencil rendering. Emphasis is on total enjoyment with one-on-one instruction. Beginning to Draw using your Creative Right Brain A basic drawing class filled with fun exercises and projects designed for you to build confidence in your drawing abilities while using your creative right brain to "see" many options. Class sessions will focus on the essential elements of a drawing, contour lines, value, texture, composition and perspective, while exploring the use of a variety of dry media. Bring a 9 x 12" sketchbook and let's begin to draw! Fees: $41(R) $53(N) (3 classes) 92065 Sat Jan 16–30 2:30–5:30 p.m. An Introduction to Calligraphy Did you know the practice of hand lettering can improve memory and foster creativity? In this introductory class, you will have fun practicing a variety of new decorative hand lettering styles to learn the art of calligraphy. Using the essential tools for lettering, you will use dip pens and india ink to design and apply new lettering styles to a note card, bookmark or other projects. The use of materials is included in the $3 supply fee due to the instructor at the first class. This card will allow you to have 10 visits to either of our open studio programs: Ceramics and/or Fine Arts! You can also purchase a one-time pass to try out one activity. Our experienced and talented instructors are at the Open Studios to assist you in beginning a new project or help you complete one! Membership cards are purchased at the front desk.
