104 REGISTER ONLINE: classweb.townofcary.org SPORTS PART TWO Softball Pitching and Catching Clinic—Intermediate/Advanced (age 12-17) This clinic reinforces proper pitching mechanics and introduces drills to increase pitch speed and power generated from legs and core. Proper grip, spin and body motion for change-ups, and moving pitches will be introduced. Participants will also take part in fun pitching, targeting, and conditioning drills. Location: Mills Park Instructor: Town of Cary Softball Instructors Fees: $10 (1 class) 92293 Sun Mar 6 3:30-5:30 p.m. Track & Field Track and Field Clinic (age 5 & up) Get up and get moving! This class combines technical development and fundamental techniques with safety tips and a major focus on fun! The exercises and drills will prepare athletes for a future in cross-country, track and field events, and distance running, while inspiring a love for running and being active. Improve your swing to accomplish better contact, hitting placement, and bat speed. Review bunting techniques and methods for getting a good jump out of the batter's box, reducing your sprint speed from home to first base. Location: Mills Park Instructors: Town of Cary Softball Instructors Fees: $30(R) $39(N) (1 class) 92279 Sun Mar 20 4:30-6:30 p.m. SOFTBALL 1-ON-1 LESSONS Town of Cary 1-on-1 softball lessons are offered year round and help develop, enhance, and build upon your player's skill level. Due to overwhelming popularity of lessons; available dates are released on the 25th of every month for lessons being held the following month. They will be posted online and will be available on a first come, first served basis. Follow the prompts to indicate the type of lesson you would like. Lessons can be 30 minutes ($25) or an hour ($40). Anyone can sign up for a 30-minute lesson; hour-long lessons are for players ages 10–17.
