Celtic Moods and Melodies with Mara Shea and the Elftones Sunday, January 17 | 4 p.m. Page-Walker Arts & History Center You'll find it hard to resist dancing to this Celtic fiddle and guitar duo. Mara Shea and Roger Gold are The Elftones, known for their lively music from Scotland, England, Ireland, and North America. Their music is lyrical, playful, melodic, and upbeat—it can lift your spirits and make your heart sing. Roger's beautiful, rhythmic, and complex guitar style complements Mara's sweet, strong playing and the rich voice of her five-string fiddle. Brian Reagin Sunday, February 21 | 4 p.m. Page-Walker Arts & History Center Brian Reagin, violinist and Concertmaster of the North Carolina Symphony, returns as a favorite to the Friends Concert Series. Reagin, who captivates audiences with his brilliant performances, will treat concert-goers to a classical repertoire on his Lorenzo and Tomasso Carcassi violin made in Florence, Italy, in 1763. Don't miss this one—it sells out every year! Starlight Concert Series The Starlight Concert Series is a lively series of free concerts that features musical styles from near and far. Each concert takes place in the beautiful gardens of the Page-Walker Arts & History Center. Bring a picnic and enjoy music by starlight. Polka Night with the Polka Plus Band Friday, May 20 | 7 p.m. | Free Yankovic Day brings polka fans together to hear the music of the late polka legend Frankie Yankovic and 2016 marks the 21st annual concert. Mr. Yankovic performed with Polka Plus in 1997 and two decades later the band keeps his music alive for younger generations. Free dance lesson at 6:30, followed by concert at 7 p.m. BRIAN REAGIN
