Review essential elements of drawing: contour line, value, texture, and composition. A variety of graphite and other dry media will be used to complete exercises to improve your drawing abilities and confidence. No experience needed. Bring a sketchbook. Other supplies are included with fees. Emphasis will be on improving individual sculpting skills and improving your ability to see and interpret from the models. This project-driven class will expand on techniques learned in Pottery Handbuilding Techniques and Pottery Foundations. Explore embellishment and the use of tools and finishes to create fantastic pottery pieces. Prerequisites required. Review the copper enameling process and create small, colorful enameled copper pieces for a pendant, a pair of earrings, a fashion pin, or other jewelry accessories. Pieces are fired by the instructor. Copper pieces are available for purchase at the Cary Arts Center. Other supplies and tools are provided.
