The mechanics of the wind-up and the stretch, pick off moves, and defensive responsibilities will be taught and reviewed. This clinic is for participants who want to become effective pitchers on a competitive stage. Proper arm care will be discussed with the participants. Location: USA Baseball National Training Complex Instructor: Town of Cary Baseball Instructors Fees: $30(R) $39(N) (1 class) AGE 11-13 92294 Mon Feb 22 6:30-8 p.m. AGE 14-17 92295 Mon Feb 29 6:30-8 p.m. Advanced Hitting Skills and Techniques (age 14-18) This clinic is designed to teach experienced players. The session will focus on the fundamentals of hitting, including stance, hitting position, balance, bat path, bat speed, and follow through. Topics also included are opposite- field hitting and hitting for power. The clinic will include instructional drills and batting cage practice. Location: USA Baseball National Training Complex Instructor: Town of Cary Baseball Instructors Fees: $30(R) $39(N) (1 class) 92285 Sun Feb 21 1-2:30 p.m. Advanced Fielding Skills and Techniques (age 14-18) This clinic is designed to define and enhance the experienced player's fielding skills and techniques. The focus will be on drills that will work on athleticism, footwork, and fielding positions. Location: USA Baseball National Training Complex Instructor: Town of Cary Baseball Instructors Fees: $30(R) $39(N) (1 class) 92286 Sun Feb 21 3-4:30 p.m. Youth Baseball Pitching Clinic (age 8-10) Participants will learn the basic skills of being a pitcher and will better understand what it takes mentally to be a pitcher. Drills will be taught that participants can use on their own time. Proper arm care will also be discussed. No competitive experience is required. Location: USA Baseball National Training Complex Instructors: Town of Cary Baseball Instructors Fees: $20(R) $26(N) (1 class) 92300 Sun Mar 6 4-5 p.m. 92302 Sat Mar 19 9-10 a.m. Town of Cary Spring Training Clinic (age 7-12) The 15th Annual Town of Cary Spring Training Clinic will focus on the basic fundamentals of baseball. Participants will rotate through a series of hitting, throwing, and defensive drills. Pre-registration is required as this clinic is limited to 100 participants. Registration ends March 16. Location: Thomas Brooks Park Instructors: Town of Cary Instructors Fees: $10 (1 class) 92306 Sun Mar 20 2-4 p.m. USA Baseball Preseason Skills Series (age 8-13) This series will include six hours of instruction over a series of two days and will focus on the game's fundamental skill sets, including pitching, hitting, defense, athleticism, and evaluation. All participants will receive a USA Baseball cap. Pre-registration is encouraged as the class is limited to 40 participants. Location: USA Baseball National Training Complex Instructor: USA Baseball Staff & Town of Cary Baseball Instructors Fees: $65(R) $85(N) (3 classes) AGE 8-10 92281 Mon Mar 7-21 6-8 p.m. AGE 11-13 92282 Tue Mar 8-22 6-8 p.m. Town of Cary Baseball Championship Clinic (age 8-14) Learn baseball from some of the Nation's best NCAA Division II players and coaches. Registration includes a lunch, a ticket to the NCAA Division II Championship opening game, and a glove from Rawlings. Location: USA Baseball National Training Complex Instructors: Town of Cary Baseball Instructors and NCAA D-II Players and Coaches Fees: $20 (1 class) 92283 Sat May 28 10 a.m.-noon 1-on-1 Baseball Lessons The Town of Cary offers year round 1-on-1 baseball lessons from qualified instructors for youth ages 7-17. Lessons are $25 per half hour or $40 per hour. Schedule a hitting, fielding or pitching lesson today. Lessons can be booked through the Town of Cary EZ-Reg system. Lesson availability will be added onto EZ- Reg each month starting on the 25 th of each month prior. i.e. March lessons will become available Feb 25 (Please note that youth under 10 years of age can only register for half hour lessons) Email TOCInstructors@townofcary.org with any lesson related questions.
