Students will learn the tools, techniques, and processes of turning wood on a lathe. It's also a great refresher course for those who've just begun lathe-turning and want more guided practice. A limited amount of turning stock is available for purchase from the Cary Arts Center. Tools are available for use. Supplies are not included with the fees. The result is a striking piece that you'll be proud to have in your home or to give as a gift. Supplies are included with fees. Prerequisite required. It combines power-tool and hand-tool techniques, as well as dovetailing, mortise and tenon joinery, and panel glue-ups. The final table will be an heirloom piece in your home.
