REGISTER ONLINE: classweb.townofcary.org 75 NATURE EDUCATION PART TWO Teen Nature Young Ecologists (age 10-13) Participants will build confidence and make new friends while expanding their knowledge and appreciation of the environment. Each session is primarily a field excursion with a classroom session relevant to a specific nature topic. Equipment provided. Location: Stevens Nature Center / Hemlock Bluffs Fees: $12(R) $16(N) (1 class) SALAMANDER SEARCH Join preserve staff as we search the temporary pools for salamanders. Equipment provided. 91864 Sun Feb 7 2-4 p.m. SUNSET EXPLORATION Discover what is active at the nature preserve as the sun goes down! 91865 Sat Apr 2 6:30-8:30 p.m. STREAM SEARCH We'll search Swift Creek for fish, snakes, frogs, crayfish and more. Equipment provided. 91866 Sun May 15 2-4 p.m. Hemlock Nature Quest (age 13-15) If you think your child has seen everywhere at Hemlock Bluffs, think again! Journey to the far corners of the preserve on a quest to find nature rarely seen. Dress for the weather and off-trail conditions and bring your sense of adventure! (HNQ participants are eligible to volunteer as program assistants for our younger nature programs.) Fees: $12(R) $16(N) (1 class) WINTER WILDLIFE SURVEY Join us for our annual check of wildlife boxes as we focus on owls, flying squirrels, and more! 91867 Sat Jan 23 2-4 p.m. SWIFT CREEK SURVEY Assist staff with off-trail surveys for salamanders, frogs, and other stream inhabitants.
