Recreation reduces stress, builds self esteem, improves overall wellness, encourages positive social behavior, teaches leadership and team work skills, and is just plain fun for kids and adults alike. But sometimes life happens. Situations arise that make affording these programs difficult for some right here in our community. That's where Relief for Recreation can help—to assist during those hard times. The scholarship fund provides opportunities for Cary residents in need of financial support to participate in many of the programs offered by Parks, Recreation and Cultural Resources. Often this can be a bright spot in an otherwise dark time. I cannot emphasize enough how much your help and kindness have meant. The Town of Cary is making my children's lives better. For that I cannot thank you enough. I hope the opportunity presents itself in the near future when I can donate to the scholarship fund and help someone in his or her time of need. –A Scholarship Recipient TO APPLY Dorcas Ministries receives Relief for Recreation scholarship applications.
