Students will create fun interactive animations and learn the basics of web design and how to publish their animations to share with the world. This course is perfect for students with a big imagination. Location: Herbert C. Young Community Center Instructor: Youth Tech Inc. Fees: $154(R) $184(N) (5 classes) 93813 Mon-Fri Aug 8-12 1-4 p.m. T3 Electronic Game Design: Tower Defense (age 12-14) Campers create their very own video game using Multimedia Fusion 2®. A tower defense game is one in which the programmer creates towers to defend a base which fires at passing enemies. At the end of the class, campers take home a copy of the game they create. Location: Middle Creek Community Center Instructor: Engineering for Kids Fees: $165(R) $195(N) (5 classes) 93749 Mon-Fri Jun 27-Jul 1 9 a.m.-noon T1 Electronic Game Design: Platform Games (age 12-14) Campers use Multimedia Fusion 2® to create their own video game. A platform game is a side-scrolling, Mario- type game where campers program characters and a two-dimensional obstacle course. They attempt to avoid or overcome enemies and reach an end goal on multiple levels. Campers take home a copy of their game. Teen Animation (age 11-14) Learn the basics of animation and digital design. Campers who enjoy going to various sites to see fun interactive animations will love this course. This class utilizes Adobe's animation software Adobe Flash. Campers will create fun interactive animations that they can share with the world. Location: Middle Creek Community Center Instructor: Youth Tech Inc. Fees: $154(R) $184(N) (5 classes) 93792 Mon-Fri Jul 11-15 9 a.m.-noon T4 Web Design (age 11-14) Take an in-depth look at the world of web design and development. Learn how to build websites from start to finish. The learning for this camp does not end at the door. Students will have access to their website with free hosting for one year. Fees: $154(R) $184(R) (5 classes) 93783 Mon-Fri Jul 11-15 1-4 p.m. T4 Poise Girls Entrepreneurs Camp (age 11-14) Be motivated to design and create your own product brand and line of merchandise. Topics include sales, product branding, business, finance and marketing concepts. By the end of the session, participants will develop and execute their very own business plan, logo, company name, concept and product line ready for display and to sell at a local retail or boutique shop.
