In conjunction with downtown merchants, the Town planned the first Downtown Mingle & Jingle shopping event before the holidays in December. The stores had later hours, special giveaways and light refreshments. The cafe/concession area at The Cary Theater is currently undergoing up-fit to accommodate new tenant BREW. BREW will take over the space on February 1 and will operate 7 days a week with early morning hours and later evening hours with a coffee shop, light food menu and theater concessions. Construction of the new 25,000SF office building, part of the Midtown Square project has begun, as well as facade upgrades to the storefronts of the existing retail building at 215 E Chatham Street. Bond Brother's Beer Company is nearing completion with hopes of a certificate of occupancy by mid- February. The company will need to receive their federal permit before they can begin brewing beer but are planning an April 2nd Grand Opening. The Mayton Inn is in the final weeks of construction with plans for a Grand Opening on January 30, 2016. Did You Know? Town Events Live at Lunch returned in September and October each Thursday during lunch. These concerts were free and patrons were encouraged to bring a lunch or stop by one of Cary's downtown restaurants. Attendance averages 80 patrons. On October 24, the third annual Great Pumpkin Carve took place on the Ivey-Ellington lawn in conjunction with the Heart of Cary's Harvest Festival. Attendance increased from 2014 with two carving classes. October The new Trailhead Park is situated in northwestern Cary adjacent to the American Tobacco Trail. This 12-acre site includes parking for horse trailers, a 100-space parking lot, restrooms and public art. It is one of the few locations in Wake and Chatham counties along the 220mile ATT that offers drinking water and restroom facilities. The four public art figures, entitled "Visitors" and created by John Merigian, call the Trailhead home. November
