Q4 Approved Development Plan Square Footage Comparison 17 Development projects were approved in Q4 including: 144 single family lots at Woodhall Subdivision 308 multi-family units at The Ovation at Weston Middle Creek Community Library (8,800 sqft.) VSRP Veterinary Hospital (14,138 sqft.) Carolina Restoration Services (30,500 sqft.) Prestonwood Country Club Fitness Center (7,191 sqft.) Crosspointe Church Expansion (80,779 sqft.) State Employee's Credit Union at Crossroads (6,793 sqft.) Plus an additional 3 parks projects and 6 infrastructure improvement projects Population As of January 1, 2016 the Town of Cary's population is estimated to be at 155,918. This is an increase of 2.8% (4,191 people) from January 1, 2015. Total Town Limits as of January 1, 2016 is 58.57 square miles (37,480 acres). DEVELOPMENT Q4 Development Plan Approvals Jan- March April- June July- Sept Oct- Dec 2015 At work sessions on October 1st and November 17th, Council reviewed the new plan format, maps and key aspects of the initial draft Cary Community Plan. After discussions about several draft chapters including Foundations, Live, Work, Shape, & Move, Council agreed that they wanted to have more discussion on potential policies and see more examples of how Comprehensive Plan Amendments and Rezoning Cases could be reviewed in the future. This additional information as well as future community open house meeting dates would be brought back to Council for consideration in 2016.
