The Cary Downtown Theater had a record December welcoming over 2,200 people to the Theater during the month. Did You Know? Specialized Recreation The Town partnered with Cary Visual Arts to offer an art workshop with Helen Seebold titled "Message in a Bottle." Twelve persons with disabilities participated in the workshop and their work is displayed at the Cary Senior Center. Bond Park Community Center served as the host site for two Special Olympics of Wake County's Basketball Skills Competitions. Over 200 middle school and high school athletes participated and over 200 elementary athletes participated. "Acting Inclusive" classes were introduced as a new program offering. The classes were well attended and feedback by parents and participants was to offer more classes in Winter/Spring. Two additional parent workshops were offered in October and November - "Avoiding Power Struggles with your Child with Disabilities" and "Caring for Yourself when You're Caring for Others."
