We are operating under the 2015 IBT Certificate, which will accommodate all of our forecasted water resources needs through the year 2045. The NC Division of Water Resources approved the Compliance and Monitoring, Drought Management, and Water Conservation Plans required by the 2015 IBT Certificate in July 2015. In May 2015, the City of Fayetteville and Fayetteville's Public Works Commission filed a petition against the NC Environmental Management Commission and the Department of Environment and Natural Resources for a contested case hearing. The Towns of Cary and Apex are now intervenors in the case and responding to Fayetteville's discovery requests. IBT Status On September 15, 2015, the new Cary/Morrisville Utility Agreement became effective. The new Utility Agreement supersedes the previous Merger Agreement and clarifies how the Town of Cary manages its water, sewer and reclaimed water utility system with respect to the Town of Morrisville now that the utility system merger is complete.
