Social & Cultural Dance Tartan Tots & Co. (age 4–7) This class is a great introduction to Scottish Highland Dance! We will combine creative movement and Scottish Highland Dance during this fun class for your dancer. A parent showcase with tartan touches will cap off this course. Location: Bond Park Community Center Instructor: Mercier School of Dance Fees: $39(R) $50(N) (4 classes) 94958 Sat Jul 2–22 11:30 a.m.–noon Irish Dance for Beginners (age 5–10) How fun does the Irish Reel or Jig sound? Learn the basic moves of Irish step dancing and basic technique training needed for a more advanced course. Learn about Irish culture and about how Irish dance came to be a modern form of entertainment in shows such as "Riverdance" and "Lord of the Dance." Location: Herbert C. Young Community Center Instructor: Colleen Pitt, Lynn-O'Grady Quinlan Connick Academy of Irish Dance Fees: $53(R) $69(N) (6 classes) 94968 Tue Jun 28–Aug 2 5–6 p.m. Youth & Teen Programs Develop technique, learn proper body alignment, and build strength through warm-ups, center exercises, and fun choreography. Classes are open to dancers of all skill levels. SHORT SESSION CLASSES Try out a bunch and see what you like! Tea Party Ballerinas (age 5–7) Dancers come and enjoy a fun-filled movement class. We will explore a new princess each class. Dancers will have a tea party the last day with apple juice and Oreo cookies. Parents are invited in on the last class of each session.
