Teens Making a Difference!
The Cary Teen Council is a volunteer service
organization made up of current middle and high
school students who love to make a difference in
their community! Members have the opportunity
to volunteer all year long while developing
leadership, communication and responsibility.
Fun Fact
Between June 1 and February 28, Cary Teen
Council members volunteered over 14,000 hours
at over 1,000 different event shifts!

Applications for new members are accepted in the
month of June ONLY. For questions, please call
the Herb Young Community Center at (919) 460-
4965. See page 14 for an application and register
at any Town of Cary community center or online
using the course code 95424.

Each year at the Annual Volunteer Awards banquet, the Town of Cary Parks, Recreation & Cultural
Resources Department gives various awards to outstanding volunteers. This year, Sarah Welsch (above)
as named the Most Outstanding Teen Volunteer. Congratulations to Sarah!
