Bond Brother's Beer Company opened with a Grand
Opening celebration that attracted approximately
5,000 people.
BREW at The Cary Theater opened, taking
over the concessions and cafe space. They
are open seven days a week with early
morning hours and late evening hours to
accommodate the needs of The Cary.
The Mayton Inn celebrated their Grand
Opening and now has the restaurant, bar
and spa open as well as rooms for overnight
guests. In advance of the opening of The
Mayton Inn, several articles appeared in
local, regional and national publications
drawing attention to downtown Cary.
Construction of the new 25,000SF office
building, part of the Midtown Square Project,
is well underway with steel beams framing
the building. Facade upgrades to the
storefronts of the existing retail building at
215 E. Chatham Street has also begun.
Downtown Cary celebrated Arbor Day on March 20 with
150 citizens participating in the event, which included live
musical entertainment, free education and crafts for kids,
local refreshments from Academy Street Bistro, and the
Tree City USA Award Ceremony. There were 14 activity
booths from local environmentally focused groups and
Town programs. The 2016 Honorary Arbor Day Tree was
planted in honor of Hometown Spirit Award Winner Anne
Kratzer.

on March 10, in preparation for the short
session which will convene on April 25.
