Jordan Lake Water Supply Allocation
We submitted a final application in
November 2014 for an increase in our
Jordan Lake water supply allocation.
Our application provided information to
support the projected water supply
needs for the Towns of Cary, Apex,
Morrisville and Wake County for RTP
South. The NC Division of Water
Resources (DWR) provided its Jordan
Lake allocation recommendations to
the Water Allocation Committee of the
NC Environmental Management
Commission in November 2015. DWR
will receive public comments on the
application until May 18, 2016. DWR
will then prepare final
recommendations to the EMC with a
final decision expected in late 2016.
Jordan Lake's water level has exceeded
its normal elevation of 216 ft. above sea
level since the beginning of 2016.
Jordan Lake began the year at a near-
record level of 233.07 ft. on January 1,
2016 following a period of heavy rainfall.
The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers has
slowly returned the lake to its normal
level during subsequent rainfall events.
