In mid-February, the Town began the design process for the new site with Vision Internet, our CMS/Design vendor. This effort is expected to continue through the end of spring. Design examples have been posted on www.caryhaveyoursay.com and for the public to provide feedback throughout the process. While these phases of the project have been wrapping up and kicking off, respectively, Vision began the lengthy content migration process in December, which will continue through Spring and Summer. This process will not affect the availability of services on www.townofcary.org. Open Data Portal On March 5, 2016 the Town's Chief Information Officer and Council Member Lori Bush officially launched the Town's Open Data Portal at Triangle Open Data Day. The Open Data Portal lists more than two dozen commonly requested datasets to view, map and analyze within the portal, or download for off-site analysis. The site features a unique storytelling component to provide context and relevance to its public users. The Town partnered with Code for Cary as well as City of Raleigh and Wake County to share data, discuss data standards and develop visualizations. Datasets currently available for public consumption focus on topics like crime and safety, development, permits and inspections, and winter weather preparation. The Cary Town Council approved $101,273 for the implementation of an open data program in the FY16 budget. Human resources tracks and analyzes Town turnover on an annual, calendar-year basis, searching for trends of concern and taking appropriate action where necessary. This analysis differentiates between positive and negative turnover. Negative turnover includes the loss of strong performers who leave employment for another municipality or private employer in the area. We separately analyze reasons for these resignations to determine any issues that need to be addressed within a specific department or division. Positive turnover includes the separations of employees who are poor performers. This includes any employee with past performance or conduct issues and/or employees who resign before any pending disciplinary action. 2015 Annual Turnover Report Overall turnover rate is 6.9% with a total of 83 separations out of an average of 1,198 employees 19,495 35,365 2,917 50.97% New visits to the website DID YOU KNOW? During the first quarter, the Town of Cary had 510,761 visits to the Town's website. The average visit lasted approximately two minutes and the average number of pages viewed was 2.41 per visit.
