3 Parks, Recreation & Cultural Resources Special Events Explore the US National Whitewater Center (age 11–17) The US National Whitewater Center in Charlotte is calling and we must go! Spend the day out on the water enjoying whitewater rafting, kayaking, and stand-up paddle boarding or stay dry and roam the 1,100 acres of woodlands, experiencing rock climbing, zip lines, ropes courses, and a 25 miles mountain biking trail system. (age 11–17) Let's hit up the ropes course after dark! Come experience the fun and excitement of the challenge course under the cover of the moon and stars. Glow sticks will light the way as we complete low and high obstacles. Registrants receive a certificate of completion, enjoy free campfire food, and take home a buff for participating!
