Youth Theatre programs explore and develop theatre skills and encourage participants to share ideas, think creatively, and work collaboratively. Our curriculum includes classes and camps in creative drama, acting, musical theatre, technical theatre/design, and offers multiple performance opportunities throughout the year. Come "Be Somebody" with Applause! All Applause! programs are held at Cary Arts Center unless otherwise noted. Acting/Performance Improv Troupe (age 12–18) Learn the basics of sketch comedy, from building character relationships, settings, and scenes to playing off your ideas and the ideas of others. Then perform with your team on the last day of class! Acting Intensive (age 14–18) Learn how to use Stanislavsky's famous methods to break down and analyze scenes and monologues and apply these concepts to your performance and develop an understanding of the mind-body connection to acting.
