Marvelous Music Mainstage Series Come to downtown Cary to enjoy incredible evenings of entertainment with the Marvelous Music Mainstage Series. The 2016–17 season marks the sixth year of presenting this beloved series in the restored historic Cary Arts Center. The series showcases a variety of emerging and nationally acclaimed touring artists. The Fabulous Equinox Orchestra Saturday, September 17 | 7:30 p.m. This 17-piece ensemble features some of the South's greatest vocalists and performs music from the Great American Songbook with a sprinkling of Motown and Funky New Orleans. This is a one-of-a kind, high- energy stage show featuring music by some of the best entertainers around. Enjoy their fresh approach to the Great-American Big-Band revival. Billy McGuigan's Rave On! The Buddy Holly Experience Saturday, November 19 | 7:30 p.m. Billy McGuigan and his band are back to present another hit show! "Rave On!" re-invents the ordinary tribute show with an electrifying, high-energy, rock n' roll extravaganza featuring America's principal Buddy Holly interpreter, Billy McGuigan, a dead-ringer for the legendary rocker. Backed by the rockin' Rave On! band, their incredible musicianship helps ignite the stage and breathe new life into some Buddy Holly hits like "Peggy Sue," "That'll Be the Day," and of course, "Rave On." Robin Spielberg Friday, January 27 | 7:30 p.m. One of America's most beloved pianists/composers, Robin Spielberg, made her Carnegie Hall debut before a sold- out crowd, appeared on PBS, played for "CBS Saturday Morning" and was a featured speaker on "TEDx." In addition to her performances and recordings, Robin is an author who speaks about how music affects our well-being, a topic of her book, "Naked on the Bench: Adventures in Pianoland." Robin's neo-classical piano stylings coupled with her ability to connect with audiences will inspire and move you.
