66 REGISTER ONLINE: classweb.townofcary.org NATURE EDUCATION PART TWO HANDS-ON NATURE EXPLORATION Youth Nature Curiosity Club (age 5–8) Children will embrace science and nature at the Stevens Nature Center while developing skills and knowledge to satisfy their curiosity about the natural world around them. In these introductory nature programs, they will learn about nature through hands-on explorations in the Preserve along with fun activities and crafts. Each hands-on session will focus on a specific nature topic and include time spent outdoors. Some projects may get messy, so dress to get dirty! Fees: $12(R) $16(N) (1 class) GARDEN ART PROJECTS 97555 Sat Sep 17 1–3 p.m. AUTUMN NATURE ART 97556 Sat Oct 22 10 a.m.-noon Eco-Explorers (age 7–10) Do you have cherished memories of exploring the woods near your childhood home? Give your child the same opportunity in a safe environment brimming with opportunities for discovery. Staff led explorations offer your child the chance to make their own memories, while increasing knowledge about local plants and animals. Fees: $12(R) $16(N) (1 class) EXPLORATION: INSECTS 97551 Sun Sep 11 2–4 p.m. EXPLORATION: ANIMAL DEFENSES 97552 Sat Oct 15 10 a.m.-noon EXPLORATION: OWLS 97553 Sun Nov 13 2–4 p.m. Weekday Preschool Nature Nature Fun (age 4–5) Children will develop their awareness of the environment as they dive into nature through outdoor explorations, games, stories, and crafts in a safe and nurturing environment. Who knew learning could be so much fun?! Fees: $24(R) $32(N) (2 classes) WHAT DOES THE FOX SAY? Wildlife communicates in many different ways. Find out what the fox says and other ways animals communicate! 97500 Mon, Wed Sep 26–28 1–3 p.m. FINDING ANIMAL HOMES On the ground or in the trees, animals have homes all around us! 97501 Mon, Tue Nov 14–15 1–3 p.m. Early registration allows us time to plan appropriately. Often times we are able to accommodate those on waiting lists by adding additional spots in the class or adding additional classes. Classes that do not meet their minimum enrollment are generally cancelled. You could make the difference. DON'T WAIT!
