The award, presented by the Academy for Park and Recreation Administration in partnership with the National Recreation and Park Association, honors communities that demonstrate excellence in parks and recreation through long-range planning, resource management, volunteerism, environmental stewardship, program development, professional development, and agency recognition. There is so much to enjoy this fall with Parks, Recreation and Cultural Resources! The dog days of summer are coming to an end and the gorgeous autumn weather begins in Cary. Why not take in the autumn air at a cultural event or festival this fall. Kick off September with a visit to the third annual Dragon Boat Festival on September 17 to watch the boats race across Symphony Lake at Cary's Booth Amphitheatre. Diwali, the Festival of Lights, is a great opportunity to take in Indian tradition and culture on October 15 also at Booth Amphitheatre. Howlin' Good Halloween and Heart of the Holidays boast a full day of celebrating with activities for all ages and interests.
