102 REGISTER ONLINE: classweb.townofcary.org SPORTS PART TWO Quidditch Quidditch (age 11–17) This program is designed to teach the fundamentals behind the United States Quidditch version of Muggle Quidditch. Participants will learn each of the four positions that are played in the Harry Potter version of Quidditch through a series of practices and games. Location: Fred G. Bond Metro Park Instructor: NC State Wolfpack Quidditch Team Fees: $25(R) $33(N) (11 classes) 96710 Tue, Thu Sep 13–Oct 27 5–6:15 p.m. (no class Sept 22, Oct 11, 13) Softball Pitching Clinic— Intermediate (age 12–16) This session is only for players who have pitched for at least two years and who want to master more advanced pitches and pitch defense. Location: Mills Park Instructors: Town of Cary Softball Instructors Fees: $45(R) $54(N) (2 classes) 97206 Sun Sep 11 & 18 2:30–4 p.m. Softball Catching Clinic— Intermediate (age 12–16) This clinic is designed for players who have been catching live pitching for at least a year and will cover blocking, pop-ups, throw-downs, bunt defense, communication, and positioning for the tag. Location: Mills Park Instructors: Town of Cary Softball Instructors Fees: $45(R) $54(N) (2 classes) 97202 Sun Sep 11 & 18 2:30–4 p.m. School Softball Tryouts Prep (current grades 7–10) Participants will learn from high school-level coaches about what it takes to make the team. Coaches will review proper techniques and strategies and players will run through skills and drills practice for throwing, hitting, fielding, and position play. Location: Mills Park Instructors: Town of Cary Softball Instructors Fees: $45(R) $54(N) (2 classes) 97208 Tue, Thu Nov 8 & 10 6–7:30 p.m. QUIDDITCH FUN Town of Cary 1-on-1 softball lessons are offered year round and are intended to develop, enhance, and build upon your player's skill level. Due to the overwhelming popularity of lessons, available dates are released on the 25th of every month for lessons being held the following month. They will be posted on EZ-REG web and will be available on a first-come, first-served basis. Please follow the prompts to indicate the type of lesson you would like. Lessons can be 30 minutes ($25) or an hour long ($40). Anyone can sign up for a 30-minute lesson; hour-long lessons are viable for players age 10–17. If you have any issues or concerns, please email TOCInstructors@townofcary. org. PRIVATE INSTRUCTION In case of inclement weather, the decision to play or not will be made by the Sports Staff. Information will be on the Town website at http://games.townofcarync. gov/. A recording will also be on the Weather Cancellation Line (919) 319-4500. Updates are made at 3 p.m. each weekday, 7 a.m. on Saturday, and 12 p.m. on Sunday. If a decision is made after these times, it will be announced by the officials at the facility. INCLEMENT WEATHER
