SPECIAL EVENTS 10 REGISTER ONLINE: classweb.townofcary.org PART ONE Letters to Santa: Santa's Mailbox November 21–December 10 Town Hall We've made special arrangements for Town Hall to be a drop-off site for letters to Santa Claus! Little ones enjoy this annual tradition as we prepare for Santa's flight over Cary. Drop off letters in the Santa Mailbox on Town Hall campus before December 10 and your child will hear back from our jolly friend in red! Include your child's name and return address on each letter. Heart of the Holidays 6th Annual Gingerbread House Competition Saturday, December 3 Downtown Cary Create a gingerbread house yummy enough for an elves' visit! The houses will be on display in Downtown Cary on December 3. Winning houses will be on display during December at the Cary Arts Center. Entry forms due by November 23; completed gingerbread houses due on December 2. Santa's Workshop Saturday, December 3 | 10 a.m.–12:30 p.m. Herbert C. Young Community Center Age 10 & under with parent Children can enjoy a variety of craft stations where children can make a gift for someone special and enjoy a visit with the white bearded guy from the North Pole! While at Santa's Workshop, you can support the Cary Teen Council's food drive by sending each child with two non- perishable food items or a cash donation. All proceeds will be donated to charity. There will be a 20-minute break at 11:30 a.m. so Santa can feed his reindeer. Heart of the Holidays 5th annual Gifting Tree Project Downtown Cary You are invited to participate in a Christmas Tree Decorating Contest in Downtown Cary with a charitable twist! Represent your family, organization, school, or more as we line the streets of Downtown Cary with lighted trees. The public is invited to vote and the winning tree will have a donation (provided by our Gifting Tree Project sponsor) to the non-profit group of their choice. Other prizes will also be awarded. Registration forms are due November 23. Cary Players presents The Best Christmas Pageant Ever by Barbara Robinson December 3 | 3 & 7:30 p.m. Cary Arts Center What happens with the toughest kids in town take over the annual Christmas pageant? A heart-warming comedy for the whole family! Additional performances December 1–5. Page-Walker Holiday Open House Saturday, December 3 | 4–6 p.m. | Free Page-Walker Arts & History Center Get into the holiday spirit with old-fashioned Christmas fun at the Page-Walker Holiday Open House! Learn about Victorian holiday traditions while touring the historic hotel, built in 1868. Take a horse-drawn carriage ride and listen to Victorian Carolers sing holiday favorites. Enjoy holiday treats, make a holiday craft with the kids, and see the building beautifully decorated for the season. Town of Cary Christmas Tree Lighting Saturday, December 3 | 6 p.m. | Free Town Hall Campus Welcome in the holiday season with the official Christmas Tree lighting for the Town of Cary. This festive night features actors, singers, and musicians from the community. We'll also unveil the Cary Community Christmas Tree inside Town Hall. Over 120 community groups provide handcrafted ornaments to be displayed on the inside tree—a true representation of the diversity of Cary. Heart of the Holidays g % CARRIAGE RIDES
