Young Community Center The lighting of the Arbolito de la Esperanza (Tree of Hope) kicks off the Estrella de la Esperanza (Star of Hope) campaign, which collects food, toys, and money for families in need. The tree lighting is preceded by a traditional celebration with a potluck dinner of holiday foods from around the Latin American world. Local musicians perform and lead the audience in singing traditional holiday songs. Co-sponsored by Diamante, Inc. and the Town of Cary. Wrapping Relief! Bond Metro Park, Kiwanis Shelter The Grinch discovered that elves have hidden red and white candy canes along with some specialty canes at one of their favorite places: Bond Park! The Grinch is planning to find all of Santa's candy canes and turn them green. Come help find all the candy canes hidden in the park. Pre- registration required by December 1. NEW! NEW! SALON: An Evening of Arts & Culture at the Page-Walker Friday, November 18 | 7 p.m. | $20 Page-Walker Arts & History Center Modeled on historic salons in which guests gathered in the homes of the elite for art, music, food, and conversation, attendees will enjoy performances inspired by the 1920s Jazz Age. Musical performances, poetry, and theatre will celebrate the world of Flappers, Fitzgerald, Hughes, Chaplin, the Charleston, Ellington, and the Cotton Club. The evening is hosted by orator and singer David R. Lindquist. Refreshments will be served.
