Young Community Center Instructor: Program Staff Fees: $17(R) $22(N) (1 class) ART OF PIE Understanding the science of what makes a pie crust flaky and tender can be the difference between an amazing pie and a disaster. We will show you how to make the best pie dough ever. Participants will make individual pies, filling and all, to take home and bake! 97309 Tue Sep 27 10 a.m.–12:30 p.m. GOURMET SIGNATURE PIZZAS This is a fun class to create signature pizzas from scratch—including the dough! Bases will include butternut squash, smoked mozzarella, homemade basil pesto, olive oil, and herbs. 97310 Tue Oct 25 10 a.m.–12:30 p.m. DEEP SEA EXTRAVAGANZA If you enjoy fresh seafood, don't miss this class! A menu will be created based on selection at Locals Seafood Market. Participants will prepare three different seafood dishes along with sides to complete the meal. 97311 Tue Nov 8 10 a.m.–12:30 p.m. DECADENT HOLIDAY DESSERTS This holiday season, it's time to make your own stellar desserts! Adult A Taste of India (age 16 & up) A decadent adventure through the Taste of India! Learn to create a variety of Indian dishes from stuffed breads, kabobs, chicken dishes, and vegetable curries to mouthwatering appetizers. Each adventure will be sure to get your taste buds going! Learn secrets of crepe batter and practice making (and eating!) sweet and savory crepes. If you have a crepe pan, bring it, but pans will be supplied. All food is included. Location: Herbert C. This two-class series offers all you need to know to create a splendid occasion cake. The first class of the session covers the foundations of cake baking, icing, filling, and decoration. In the second class, participants decorate a homemade cake with beautiful borders and decorations. Fun homework between classes test your skills.
