Journey to far corners of the Preserve on a quest to find nature rarely seen. Dress for the weather and off-trail conditions. Bring your sense of adventure! (HNQ participants are eligible to volunteer as program assistants for our younger nature programs.) Fees: $12(R) $16(N) (1 class) NOCTURNAL WILDLIFE Enjoy a hike as the sun sets. We will listen for owls and look for other nocturnal wildlife. 97558 Sun Dec 11 4–6 p.m. Night Out in Nature (age 8–12) Kids are dropped off to spend a night making memories and new friends. Our adventures will encourage the understanding and appreciation of the natural world at night. This old-fashioned, camp-style program includes nature activities and crafts, night hikes, and snacks around the fire pit. Each program has a different nature topic. They will delight in learning about the winter wildlife at Hemlock Bluffs during this fun-filled afternoon adventure! Fees: $26(R) $34(N) (1 class) 97614 Sun Dec 4 1–5 p.m. 97615 Sat Dec 10 1–5 p.m. Teen Nature Young Ecologists (age 10–13) Participants will build confidence and make new friends while expanding their knowledge and appreciation of the environment. Each session is primarily a field excursion with a classroom session relevant to a specific nature topic. Equipment provided.
